Kayaking is one of the fastest growing sports of this decade. Advances in boat hulls have created boats that are light, fast and extremely comfortable. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center provides an entire "kayak center" right on the secluded waters of Mission Bay. It's a perfect place to learn to paddle. Multi-Level Kayaking This course is designed for the youth with little or no kayaking experience. Basic fundamentals taught will include boat handling, body positioning, strokes, recoveries, water safety and equipment care. Campers will tour the coves of Mission Bay in sit-on-top kayaks. Qualified campers may advance to sit-inside kayaks.
Sailing and Motorboating: The great sailing tradition of Andalusía and the cleanliness of its waters and the warm climate make this coast a popular place in which to enjoy watersports. From the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, the 836 kms. of Andalusían coastline are dotted with excellent facilities, that provide an excellent range of activities. Rowing and canoeing: Rowing and canoeing is possible on many lakes and rivers, where canoes and kayaks can usually be rented. There are marinas inland, at Sevilla and Gelves that support sailing in the River Guadalquivir near from its mouth beside Doñana National Park. There are also boating facilities at source of the Guadalquivir in Tranco de Beas Reservoir in the Nature Park of Cazorla, Segura (Jaén province), and also at Las Villas. There are similar facilities on the Iznájar Reservoir that covers parts of three provinces - Córdoba, Málaga and Granada. Windsurfing & Surfing & Kite Surfing: The varied coast line offers windsurfers at all levels the chance to practice this sport. Tarifa is a world class windsurfing location. It is on the annual world windsurfing championship circuit. Ten kilometres of white sandy beaches, unspoilt countryside and some of the best windsurfing conditions in Europe have established Tarifa as a true surfers paradise.Just 11 km across the Straits of Gibraltar at its narrowest point, this southern-most tip of Europe where the Med meets the Atlantic Ocean, enjoys spectacular views of the Rif mountains of Africa across the water. Snorkelling and Diving: There are countless locations to dive along the coast in Andalucía. Snorkeling is something that pretty well anyone who can swim can do, with the minimum of equipment - basically, it's a snorkel, facemask and flippers and away you go. The relatively calm seas and gentle tides provide a perfect environment for face-down fun. Having said that, divers should always ensure that someone else knows they are in the water, and approximately where they are going to be, in case they do get into difficulties and need help. A diving permit is obligatory in Spanish waters. They cost approximately 1.000 ptas and are available from clubs and schools. Salt water Fishing: The Atlantic and Mediterranean shorelines are ideal for fishing. many of the marinas provide everything required for a day of open sea fishing. Swordfish fishing is most spectacular, it is immortalised in several feature films. From July to September swordfish are found off the coasts of Almería, Granada and Málaga, as well as in the Bay of Cádiz. Fresh water Fishing & Angling: Fishing in rivers and dams in Andalucía is also a popular sport, where trout, pike and black bass are found, as well as ciprinidae family, barbel and carp. Trout fishing is the most attractive to anglers, owing to its difficulty, no doubt. There are 64 fishing preserves in the Nature Parks of Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas and of Sierra Nevada. Marinas: Accessibility, safety and an ample range of complementary services are the main characteristics of Andalucían ports and marinas. Many of them already have large berths, as well as yacht clubs, sports facilities, boat and equipment rental, hotels, casinos and shopping areas, plus fuel, workshops, cranes and winter hangars.
An incredible success of our first summer, Marine Science has been added to every week of this summer's youth camp and we have added an Advanced Marine Science activity. Marine Science and Advanced Marine Science These courses will include hands-on experience with marine life including Eco-tours to tide pools, snorkeling and a being the scenes tour at Sea World and Birch Aquarium. Lectures and activities will include issues ranging from undersea life to physical oceanography, where campers will discover the forces that create waves, tides and currents. Advanced Marine Science sampers will do more in-depth activities with field trips to a fish hatchery and marine science labs. Join us for this unique opportunity to learn about the ocean environment. Am looking for opinions on boat construction and performance for the 2000 Air Nautique. Is it worth the premium over comparable boats (i.e. Malibus Sunsetter LXI). Please dont reply if you are going to tell me I am trolling to cause controversy. Why is it that people in this industry/sport have a difficult time providing objective criticism??? In other industries this is what drives true innovation.... Thanks for any feedback on the boat(s). Grinch
