Unfortunately, this is all too common of
a Problem. Youre not the only one
frustrated about the length of time it
takes to be listed, or all the pitfalls involved.
It takes anywhere from 2 days to as much
as 3 months to be listed on all the search engines. |
| Alta Vista used to be my favorite search engine also, but Google is
now my #1 and is the same for many, many others. I just moved to NC
from CA and on both coasts Google is fast becoming the number one
search engine of choice. I know this because I stop into hundreds of
small businesses selling my services. |

Hi
I created a Web page (Munzing Mache) for my girlfriend a while ago and
submitted it to the major search engines for listing. This hasnt
worked. I also paid $10 to a company to professionally submit the
site. Again this hasnt worked. Although you can find it on certain
search engines if you enter Munzing Mache, it does not appear as one
of the listed hits if you just enter Papier Mache. I suspect this is
something to do with the fact that the site originally had no real
text on it - it was created from a collection of image mapped JPGs. I
tried to fix this by entering relevant meta tag text in the borders of
the pages (black text in black borders so it would be invisible to the
reader, but not to search engine cataloguers). Again, no joy. Does
anyone have any ideas how I can get the site properly listed. If you
want to take a look, the address is
